Vocalists could easily be one of the very oldest forms of entertainment, with singing talents still enjoyed.. Dated representation offers the 1875 Old Glee Singers. All four born 1810 achieved broader notoriety said to have sung before Queen Victoria.

Chapels and church choristers encouraged hymn singing, accompanied by piano or organ. One young Huthwaite pianist mastered grandest keyboards. Reg Holland ultimately achieved fame playing at Blackpool, heard via radio concert broadcasts.

Staged dance concerts, theatrical plays and pantomimes shared venues throughout revolutionary period of big talking screen cinemas. The CWS Hosiery Factory adds musical popularity, being identified playing entertaining selections at 1933 pavilion opening titled the C.W.S. Melody Aces Orchestra, directed by Mr G Truscott.
