Fusilier 14493470 Norman Evans was born Q2 1926 on the Huthwaite west borderline. Parents 1910 marriage between Collier Butty Stallman Mr Norman Charles Henry Evans and Miss Mary Shaw from Sutton-in-Ashfield finds newly wedded 1911 couple housed in the former Huthwaite addressed Carnarvon Grove. Sutton town boundary changes likely determines this birthplace for Norman, plus any other unknown siblings similarly eluding census years. Parents held a Sutton Road, Huthwaite address in 1939, only able to update fathers occupation Public Works Contractor's General Labourer aged 56, with Mrs Mary Evans 53.

CWCG records just basically identified Norman Evans serving the 6th Royal Welch Fusiliers when killed in action 24th February 1945, still only aged 18. That dates advancement of land forces through the German Reichswald Forest given a war cemetery.
