Private 19106 Thomas Robinson was born 1888 in Huthwaite. Father Samuel Robinson born 1855 Sutton worked as a Coal Banksman before wedding Elizabeth born 1862 Hucknall Huthwaite, which is where they started a family on Blackwell Road.
Parents at a formerly known Church Street 1891 Hucknall-under-Huthwaite census address recognises birthplace for daughter Emily plus sons Thomas and Herbert. Youngest son Samuel was born just over the adjacent county border in Derbyshire before Blackwell 1901 census identifies moved household headed by Widower Samuel 45. A 37 year old servant Lucy Allsop with son Joseph 11 housekeeper assists raising his 4 motherless children then aged Emily 14, Thomas 11, Herbert 9 and Samuel 6.
Mr Thomas Robinson remained just inside Derbyshire following his fathers work employed as a Colliery Banksman. Marriage to Lucy predates Nov 1909 baptism of their Huthwaite born daughter Elizabeth Maria. South Normanton 1911 census finds them homed at their own acknowledged and closely neighbouring address given 488, B Winning, South Normanton, Alfreton.
Mansfield enlistment basically identifies Private 19106 T Robinson of the Notts & Derby Regiment of Sherwood Foresters. Killed in action aged 29 left a widowed Mrs Lucy Robinson receiving a widows pension, details of which may potentially further identify Thomas actually being the father of three daughters named Elizabeth Maria, Emily, Doris Alice.
