Huthwaite Online WW1 Remembrance

Private 235007 Ernest Dove was born in Hucknall Huthwaite 1888 deserving additional remembrance. Parents 1901 address in Newcastle Street is headed by coal mining father from Derbyshire Mr John Dove. His Huthwaite wife Eliza mothered 3 Huthwaite born children, the youngest then being 3 year old Ernest. His younger sister Ruby arrived after relocating into Sutton-in-Ashfield.

Full 1911 Alfred Street household lists John Dove 51, wife Eliza 48, Beatrice 17, Charles Edward 15, Ernest 13 and Ruby 6. The children held Hosiery Factory employment, including young Ernest described as a working errand boy.

Private 235007 Ernest Dove was ultimately killed in action amid the French battlefields. His Sutton-in-Ashfield remembrance offers listing for E. Dove upon both Mansfield Road and Sutton Cemetery War Memorials.
