A well roofed, cleaner clad Workpeoples Inn managed to serve Huthwaite locals into this 21st century. The Workies had struggled through that difficult period of dwindling custom which had been forcing widespread pub closures. After repeated efforts to stay open by appointing enthusiastic landlords and landlady's, the brewery owners invested in making this modernised 2003 makeover.

Subtle designer colour changes before fitting new window frames dates 27 January 2003 progression. Slight structural alteration is furthermore evident inside, following general trend for open plan layouts. New stylish decor and furnishings cannot be appreciated either without a comparable view of previous well worn arrangements, here offered through hosting a December 2002 party.

Landlady Helen serves regular patrons on 13 January before closing doors to public, allowing tradesmen to begin taking over work.
