Mr David Porter introduces brief background to his Huthwaite family links beginning with grandparents Davis relocation circa 1899. Album initially features Uncle George Davis, as their eldest child schooled and starting work in Huthwaite aged 13 as an office boy at the CWS Hosiery Factory. He's a veteran of The Great War serving the Sherwood Foresters in France and Flanders. Returning and rejoining CWS 1915 he ended up WW2 Major of Sutton Home Guard, while eventually gaining promotion through to Group Manager of three CWS factories including Huthwaite and Wath-on-Dearne.
