Sincere thanks to Mrs Pearce for introducing some very notable members of her ancestral Bailey family. A well respected family with a Huthwaite genealogy worthy of later being fully featured. The photo identifying Mrs. Charlotte Anne Thorpe finds a 21st June 1935 obituary explaining how the twice married 93 year old came to live out the last 55 years of her life here. Introducing one of her sons into Huthwaite reveals Robert Bailey extending family name through marriage with Wilhelmine. Their working residence in the Huthwaite Cemetery Lodge saw later siting of the World War Memorial upon which two of their own children are remembered. The Huthwaite Online War Memorial features Bernard Bailey killed in WWI, plus Annie Bailey as a later victim of WWII. Despite recent death of descendant Marjorie, many schoolchildren remember Miss Bailey teaching first class year at John Davies New Street.
Appreciating how Caroline later offered a download link finding the rest of this extensive family album, I'm afraid there was no way of identifying any of the subjects, plus many photos also proved too small to work with initially. This new website layout can now at least expand this preview album to show extended related lines that may hopefully attract further details for fuller family coverage.
