Very pleased to be invited into the Huthwaite Road home of Robert and Bett. They are proud parents of Huthwaite born actor Gavin Abbott plus two daughters who rewarded them with grandchildren.   Roger keeps fond memories of working at New Hucknall Colliery, while sharing dated knowledge of parents running the Shoulder of Mutton public house. Raised opposite side Blackwell Road is where Miss Bett Renshaw held close friendship directly neighbouring three earlier generations of my own Elliott family. Her Renshaw home also offered retirement for a very highly decorated Huthwaite war hero fondly called grandfather. Long treasured war memorabilia featuring Sergeant Lee gave purpose for my visit. A long overdue return still hopes to extend the family album.
