Mrs Caroline Pearce

Thanks here to Mrs. Pearce for exposing her marvellous Bailey family album. A notable Huthwaite family whose genealogy we hope to further feature. This starts by showing Mrs. Charlotte Anne Thorpe whose obituary was found dated 21st June 1935. At the age of 93 she had outlived her second husband by seven years, and had recently lost her brother the Rev. Robert Fletcher. Originally from Shropshire, she spent the last 55 years in Huthwaite, where one of her sons Robert Bailey continued the family name. Robert and wife Wilhelmine gained work and residence in the Huthwaite Cemetery Lodge. Tbey did have misfortune in losing two children featured on the Huthwaite War Memorial, Bernard in WWI and Annie WWII. However, many Huthwaite schoolchildren will remember Marjorie, or rather Miss Bailey from being my first teacher.
